Cecile Welten (1958, the Netherlands) is a completely self-taught figuratieve schilderkunst artist who embarked on her painting journey in 2018, shortly after concluding her medical career. With her keen ability to observe people, their moods, and expressions, she skillfully weaves their stories into her artwork.
Captivated by the magic of waterverf, Cecile chose this living, clean, and transparent medium for her creations. Currently, she primarily paints on alternative substrates such as panels and mineral paper, allowing her work to be exhibited without the need for glass.
A recognized figure in her field, Cecile is a Master of Realism and a signature member of Women in Watercolor. She participates in competities and exposities through IWS Holland and the Aligator watercolor community, and is also a charter member of the North American Watercolor Society.
Together with her husband, she raises their three children in the Netherlands.
